Berlin, March 23rd 2026 – In light of the dramatic escalation of the Iran conflict and the recent attacks on civilian and industrial targets in the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council,
the Board of the German Near and Middle East Association (NUMOV) has expressed its solidarity with these countries in letters addressed to the Ambassadors of:

  • the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • the State of Qatar
  • the State of Kuwait
  • the Sultanate of Oman
  • the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • the United Arab Emirates

Furthermore, NUMOV has conveyed its warmest greetings for the Festival of Breaking the Fast (Eid Al Fitr) to the Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

The attacks on civilian and industrial infrastructure represent not only a threat to the security of the Gulf states and thus to our friends on the ground, but also endanger the global energy supply and the economic relations that have grown over decades.

„In this moment of trial, we stand firmly by the side of our partners in the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council,“ emphasizes the Board of NUMOV. „Maintaining and promoting our historically grown personal contacts and economic relations is our most important obligation in difficult times such as these.“

Particularly against the background of theFestival of Breaking the Fast (Eid Al Fitr), NUMOV conveys its best wishes for peace and prosperity.

The Association supports the Federal Government’s appeal for an immediate diplomatic de-escalation to prevent further damage to the Gulf region.

NUMOV is in close contact with its member companies and partner organizations in the Gulf to ensure an optimal flow of information and comprehensive support in this volatile situation.

Eid Mubarak – with the hope for a swift peace!
